Mercer agrees $500m Alaska payout
The Mercer consulting unit of Marsh & McLennan Co has agreed to pay $500m to the Alaska Retirement Management Board to settle a lawsuit in which ARMB accused the company of negligence, miscalculation of pension benefits, misrepresentation and fraudulent trade practices in its offering of actuarial services to two state pension plans from 1992 to 2004.
