NZ CPI index reveals property increases are trickling through to consumers
Property insurance rates soared by more than 17% in New Zealand last year, according to the country’s latest consumer price index (CPI), as insurers sought to pass increasing reinsurance costs onto policyholders and recoup losses from the series of quakes that have stuck the region of Canterbury.
