Reinsurers bear brunt of Germany’s Japan loss
THE Japanese earthquake, tsunami and nuclear catastrophe are not likely to have much direct effect on German primary insurers, while reinsurers Munich Re and Hannover Re, on the other hand, will have to pay E1.5bn and E250m respectively, according to present estimates.
