McMurdo to succeed Scor reinsurance chief executive Blanc
Veteran Scor executive Michel Blanc to retire after more than 30 years
Scor’s reinsurance chief executive, Michel Blanc, is to retire next year after more than 30 years with the group.
Veteran executive Blanc, who will step down in January 2023, will be succeed by Stuart McMurdo.
McMurdo joined Scor in 2018 as chief executive of Scor UK and the Scor syndicate and became regional chief executive for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in 2020.
A recruitment process has been launched to replace McMurdo as chief executive of the Scor syndicate and Scor UK. He will continue to lead these two entities until the end of this recruitment process and regulatory approval, Scor said.
Meanwhile, Catherine Fassi will replace McMurdo as regional chief executive of EMEA and Canada for property/casualty (P&C), effective July 1.
Blanc joined Scor in 1991 and has held a range of senior roles, both worldwide and in the Asia-Pacific region.
“It has been a great pleasure working with Michel throughout those years and I wish him a very well-deserved, happy retirement,” Jean-Paul Conoscente, chief executive for P&C at Scor, said.
