Inver Re to enter legacy market with Bowker hire
Inver Re's Steve Hearn says new hire Guy Bowker is 'a renowned practitioner in this field and will be a huge asset to our clients and team'
Challenger reinsurance broker hires former Enstar financial chief to launch legacy solutions practice
Reinsurance broker Inver Re is to launch a legacy solutions practice with the hire of former Enstar executive Guy Bowker, Insurance Day can reveal.
The launch of a legacy capability is the latest step in the development of Inver Re after it was launched last year by Ardonagh Group.
Speaking to Insurance Day at the time, Inver Re chief executive, Steve Hearn, said he was aiming to build the business into a top-five broking operation.
Hearn said the new operation will seek to “capture the essence of a start-up… with a high degree of flexibility” and offering the “best talent on the field”.
The addition of a legacy practice will add to Inver Re’s “interdisciplinary” approach, which now has 100 staff across London, Bermuda and the US.
Bowker was previously chief financial officer at legacy specialist Enstar Group. He has 20 years’ experience including with Platinum Re, AIG and Deloitte.
He will operate within Inver Re Capital Advisors, headquartered in Bermuda, which advises global clients on holistic solutions spanning equity, debt, structured and alternative capital solutions.
“The legacy market is growing as the inflationary pressures on reserves prompt carriers to closely examine their liabilities,” Bowker said. “Inver Re has a real opportunity here. Working with colleagues across capital markets and reinsurance teams we have the agility to be joined-up in crafting bespoke solutions for our clients.”
Hearn added: “Guy is a renowned practitioner in this field and will be a huge asset to our clients and team. We’re very pleased that he’s chosen to join us at Inver Re as we continue to build a differentiated proposition that operates seamlessly across different product lines and territories.”
