Xin Chen is a Lloyd’s List news reporter based in Shanghai. She contributes to our 24/7 news output, covering a broad range of sectors across the shipping industry's spectrum.
Xin graduated with a Master's degree in journalism from The University of Hong Kong, having previously worked at Shanghai Media Group for several years, including reporting for the influential Dragon TV satellite channel.
Before that, Xin worked in Beijing for the People's Daily, China's largest newspaper group, where she helped cover the National People's Congress.
Fluent in English, Mandarin and Shanghainese, Xin brings to Lloyd's List experience in, and understanding of, Chinese business and state matters, coupled with journalistic experience that adds breadth and insight into the objective reporting of maritime developments in the Asia Pacific region.
She is a travel aficionado, a diehard fan of the San Francisco-based Golden State Warriors NBA basketball team and enjoys what she describes as 'power-pop' and 'post-rock' music.
